Depending on the source and quality of the water you may notice an ammonia odor when adding BiOWiSH® Crop 16-40-0 to water. This happens when the pH is high enough to cause ammonia volatilization from the diammonium phosphate in the BiOWiSH® Crop 16-40-0 product. There is no negative impact on the BiOWiSH® biology.
BiOWiSH® MultiBio is a unique blend of microorganisms which induce beneficial effects in the dynamic gastrointestinal environment. These products remain effective when exposed to high feed processing temperatures. Questions regarding heat tolerance issues only address the “physical stability” of the organisms and not the true efficacy of the product. While certain levels of heat exposure may have deleterious effects on the “physical stability” of BiOWiSH® organisms, gut colonization and replication is not always a requirement for efficacy. As such, other modes of action, or metabolic factors, are not affected by high processing temperatures which constitute the product efficacy we observe. These factors are produced by BiOWiSH® microorganisms during BiOWiSH’s proprietary fermentation process, and are not affected by exposure to high feed processing temperatures. Therefore, BiOWiSH® MultiBio can be administered with feeds prepared at high temperature conditions.
There is no need to use additional direct fed microbial products with BiOWiSH®. When combined with the appropriate feed, and good management practices, BiOWiSH® optimizes overall production.
BiOWiSH Technologies has determined that a dosing level of 200g of MultiBio 3PS per metric ton of feed produces optimum benefits in poultry, swine and aquaculture. Adding MultiBio 3PS at levels higher than 200g per metric ton of feed can be used, but may not provide as much overall economic benefit.
BiOWiSH® products offer unique advantages in three important ways.
- BiOWiSH Technologies work more effectively across a broader range of application conditions, (such as temperature, pH and salinity) and they can be applied using farming practices that are convenient to the farmer.
- BiOWiSH’s proprietary epigenetic processing technology, produces metabolically enhanced microbial products that provide a higher level of performance and production advantages at the best economic value to the producer.
- BiOWiSH® products are produced with the highest standard of reliability and quality, backed by US-based manufacturing and GMP certification.
The three BiOWiSH® solid soluble products can all be used interchangeability for liquid applications in the field. Example liquid applications are drip irrigation, pivots, tractors or ground rigs, backpack sprayers and more. The reason BiOWiSH® has three product offerings with the same biology and different carriers is to accommodate geography or market specific parameters.
BiOWiSH® Crop Liquid and BiOWiSH® Crop Liquid Green Choice are liquid products sold to fertilizer manufacturers and blenders. Both products can be used on a wide variety of fertilizer materials. Please see our web page and Technical Bulletins for more information. In general, BiOWiSH® Crop Liquid Green Choice has an added component for urea and ammonium sulfate fertilizers that turns the urea a nice green color. BiOWiSH® Crop Liquid has a near colorless (sheen-like) coating that is used for all applicable fertilizer materials.
BiOWiSH® organisms only remain in the soil for a short period of time. However, because they are endophytic, they migrate from the soil into the rhizosphere and become associated with the plant roots. Therefore, they remain viable and active in the rhizosphere throughout the life of the plant.
BiOWiSH® Crop products may be applied at any time of the day or night.
BiOWiSH® Crop products may be added at the same time as fertilizers or separately. Most often they are added at or near the time of fertilizer applications. Please contact a BiOWiSH representative for your site-specific application instructions.

BiOWiSH® Crop products contain a proprietary blend of beneficial microbes. Our unique bacteria strains are fermented in our multi-phase proprietary manufacturing process that creates an epigenetic effect in the end product biology. This is NOT a GMO process, simply a different way to ferment microbes that makes them operate in a wider range of conditions and be more robust that creates more of the desired benefits.
BiOWiSH® Crop products are proven safe by independent laboratories, universities, and governments. The microbes in the products are all Biosafety Level 1 –https://www.cdc.gov/biosafety/publications/bmbl5/bmbl5_sect_iv.pdf
Extensive field testing over several years across multiple geographies has shown no long term negative effects from using BiOWiSH® Crop products.
The benefits of using BiOWiSH® Crop products include improved soil health and plant vigor, increased plant root mass, increased nutrient availability, decreased fertilization and irrigation needs, increased crop yield, and a positive return on investment.
No, BiOWiSH® Crop products are made from naturally occurring, organisms that are not genetically modified.
Some products such as BiOWiSH® Crop Liquid are OMRI listed and approved for use in organic production.
BiOWiSH has a number of Crop products. Some of the products such as BiOWiSH® Crop 16-40-0 and BiOWiSH® Crop 5-0-0 contain fertilizer materials; however, these are simply diluents for the biology and do not meaningfully contribute to the overall fertilizer budget due to the low volume used per acre or hectare. Products such as BiOWiSH® Crop Liquid, BiOWiSH® Crop Liquid Green Choice, and BiOWiSH® Crop do not contain any fertilizer nutrients.
BiOWiSH® Crop products incorporate the typical benefits associated with plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) products. In addition, BiOWiSH® Crop products have other modes of action. Please see our Mode of Action Technical Bulletin for a complete understanding of the performance of BiOWiSH® Crop products.
BiOWiSH® Crop products are a proprietary mix of highly specific bacteria, chosen for their ability to provide benefits across a broader range of soil conditions than fungal mycorrhizae. Please see our Mode of Action Technical Bulletin for a complete understanding of the performance of BiOWiSH® Crop products.

Due to our proprietary fermentation process, BiOWiSH® Crop products have a broad range of operating conditions, such as up to 3 ppm of chlorine. With that said, high levels of heavy metals such as Lead, Cadmium, Arsenic, Mercury and Silver will have an adverse effect on BiOWiSH® Crop products. For specific questions, please contact your BiOWiSH Representative.
BiOWiSH® Crop products can be applied with your normal fertilization routine. No special application is required.
Agitation is not required for activation.
BiOWiSH® products work across a broad range of temperatures. Optimum performance is achieved when soil temperatures are between 20 and 35oC (68 – 95oF). However, the products will perform at temperatures from 10oC (50oF) up to 60oC (140oF).
There should be no effect of high water levels on BiOWiSH® Crop products. In cases where excess water causes soil erosion, some of the BiOWiSH may erode with the soil. In addition, excess water can cause leaching of available nutrients in some soil types. However, BiOWiSH organisms are endophytes, associating with the plant roots. As long as the root is healthy and intact, BiOWiSH will perform even under excessively high-water levels.
